Bangladesh floods kill 55 in August

At least 55 people have died and more than a million have been affected by two weeks of torrential rain that has caused flooding and landslides in southeastern Bangladesh, authorities announced on Sunday (13).

Officials in four of the worst-hit districts said that since Aug. 1, 21 people had died in Cox’s Bazar; 19, in Chittagong; 10, in Bandarban; and five, in Rangamati.
