Dhaka: Bangladesh all-rounder Mahmudullah Riyadh has retired from Test cricket. The Bangladesh Cricket Board on Wednesday confirmed this. This marked the end of the star’s 12 – year Test career.

The retirement announcement comes ahead of the two-match Test series against Pakistan in Chittagong on Friday. Mahmudullah, who is also the captain of the Bangladesh Twenty20 team, was not included in the squad.

Mahmudullah Pad is the star of the game in his debut and farewell Test. Mahmudullah, who scored an unbeaten 150 in the Test against Zimbabwe in Harare in July, led the team to victory.

He said he would continue to play limited overs cricket. The 35-year-old has scored 2914 runs in 50 Tests at an average of 33.49. He also took 43 wickets.
