Seen as the most likely team to win the T20 World Cup, Pakistan qualified for the semi-finals by beating India, New Zealand and Afghanistan, Scotland and Namibia in the Super 12 round. But the defeat to Australia in the semi-finals left the series disappointing.

Some of the players who did not play in the T20 World Cup series have been given a chance in this series. Pakistan won the first match of the three-match T20 series against Bangladesh 1-0 and the second T20 match was played in Dhaka today.
As in the first match, Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first. Starters Mohammad Naeem (2) and Saif Hasan (0) both lost. Shando, who played in the 3rd innings, scored a maximum of 40 runs. Afif Hussain (20), captain Mahmudullah (12) and Noorul Hasan (11) were all out for short runs as Bangladesh scored just 108 in 20 overs.
Babur Assam, Pakistan’s opener and captain, chased down the target of 109, were bowled out for just one run, after which Rizwan and Faqir Zaman put on a fine partnership for the 2nd wicket to add 85 runs. Rizwan was bowled out for 39, with Faqir Zaman hitting a fifties to put Pakistan ahead with 57 runs to reach the target.
Pakistan reached the target in the 19th over by 8 wickets to win the T20 series 2-0.
