Pakistan, who advanced to the semi-finals after playing hard in the Super 12 round of the T20 World Cup, have been knocked out of the semi-finals of the semi-finals of the World Cup in Pakistan.
The Pakistan team went to Bangladesh to play in a series consisting of 3 T20 and 2 Test matches. The first T20 match was played in Dhaka today. Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat first, scoring just 127 runs in 20 overs.
Naeem and Saif Hasan, the opening batsmen of the Bangladesh team, both tied the innings on just one run. Shando was then dismissed for 7. Audi scored 36 runs with Afif Hussain in charge. Captain Mahmudullah was dismissed for just 6 runs.
The score did not rise as the Bangladesh team lost wickets in a row at regular intervals. In the back row, Noorul Hasan and Mahdi Hasan combined for 4 sixes as Bangladesh scored 127 runs in 20 overs. Noorul Hasan scored 28 off 22 balls and Mahdi Hasan scored 30 off 20 balls. Hasan Ali took a maximum of 3 wickets for Pakistan.
Pakistan openers Babur Assam (7) and Mohammad Rizwan (11) were both bowled out for a paltry 128 runs. Faqir Zaman danced at one end and Haider Ali and Shoaib Malik ducked at the other. Faqir Zaman, who played responsibly, was also dismissed for 34, after which Khushdil Shah and Shatab Khan together responsibly moved Pakistan towards the target.
In the 17th over, Khushdil Shah was dismissed for 34, followed by Mohammad Nawaz, who hit 18 off 8 balls with a four and two sixes. Pakistan won the toss and elected to bat.
