Bangladesh wants to be a partner of Saudi Arabia’s Vision-2030

Foreign Affairs Advisor Touhid Hossain said that more than 3 million expatriate Bangladeshis are working in Saudi Arabia. They are contributing to the economy of both the countries. We are keen to be a partner in Saudi Arabia’s Vision-2030.

He said this at the 94th Saudi National Day reception at the country’s embassy in Dhaka on Sunday (September 29).

The foreign adviser was the chief guest at the National Day ceremony of Saudi Arabia. Essa Yusuf Essa Al Duhailan, Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Bangladesh, spoke on the occasion.

At that time, the foreign adviser said that a historic bond and partnership was created between Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia in 1975. Since then the two countries have been cooperating with each other.

Calling for Saudi investment in Bangladesh, he further said that Bangladesh has very good investment opportunities. If Saudi Arabia invests in Bangladesh, both countries will benefit.

Saudi Ambassador Essa Yusuf Essa Al Duhailan said that Saudi Arabia is moving forward under the leadership of Saudi Crown Prince Salman. Saudi Arabia announces Vision-2030. Accordingly, various measures are being implemented.

He also said that Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia are two brotherly countries. Deep mutual relations exist between the two countries.

The ambassador said that there are 3.2 million expatriate Bangladeshis in Saudi Arabia. They are contributing to both countries. We issued more than 1 million visas to Bangladeshi workers last year. Besides, 85 thousand Bangladeshis have performed Hajj this year. We want to strengthen the partnership between the two countries in the future.

Note that September 23 is the National Day of Saudi Arabia. The day is also known as the foundation day of Saudi Arabia.

On January 15, 1902, King Abdulaziz Abdul Rahman Al Saud, the founder of Saudi Arabia, captured his ancestral city of Riyadh through a battle. After a long struggle of almost 32 years, the unification of different parts of Arabia was announced on 21 May 1932 through a royal decree. Later, on September 23 of the same year, modern Saudi Arabia was formed. Since then, 23 September is considered as the National Day of Saudi Arabia.
