Cape Town: The cricketing world has hailed the Bangladesh cricket team for winning the series by beating South Africa for the first time on their soil. Fans took to social media to praise Bangladesh. Bangladesh won the three-match ODI series 2-1.
In the last match, Bangladesh defeated South Africa by nine wickets. The visitors won the toss and elected to bat. Tuskin Ahmed, who took five wickets, broke the deadlock. Tuskin took five wickets for just 35 runs in 9 overs. Shakib Al Hasan took two wickets. Janneman Malan was the only batsman to score 39 runs.
In reply, openers Tamim Iqbal and Lytton Das gave Bangladesh a good start with a 157-run victory. The openers added 127 runs for the first wicket to seal the victory for Bangladesh. Keshav Maharaj dismissed Lytton Das for 48. Tamim Iqbal led the team to victory with the help of his replacement Shakib Al Hasan (18 not out). Theme was unbeaten on 87 off 82 balls.
Bangladesh won the first match by 38 runs while South Africa drew the series by seven wickets in the second match. The star of the series is Bangladesh pacer Tuskin Ahmed, who has put in a stellar performance throughout the series.
