The pilgrimage to visit the Banilingam at the famous Amritad Cave Temple in Kashmir began on June 30. The 43-day pilgrimage ended peacefully yesterday. And to mark the completion of the pilgrimage, the silver crucible arrived inside the cave temple for the final puja.
It was expected that 6 lakh to 8 lakh devotees would come this year. But only 3 lakh 352 devotees have come. The Yatra was held amid heavy security in Kashmir due to terrorist attacks targeting minorities. The security forces are relieved that the yatra ended without any incident. And last month 15 devotees lost their lives due to heavy rain caused by cloudburst.
