Inaugurated in 1923, this building represents one of the most emblematic buildings of the city of El Jadida with its unique architecture combining Art Nouveau and Art Deco styles as well as the wonders of Moroccan craftsmanship, indicates a press release from BAM.

On this occasion, Bank Al-Maghrib is organizing a range of activities including visits open daily to the public, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m., of the numismatic exhibition of coins minted in Azemmour during the reigns of the different dynasties that ruled Morocco, explains the press release.

This exhibition will be presented in the form of a tour which highlights the architectural and urban richness of the building, according to the same source.

The program also includes two conferences that will be hosted by city historians at the headquarters of the city’s Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services and which will be broadcast live on social networks.

The first conference was held on Tuesday in collaboration with the Doukkala Memory Association for the Preservation of Heritage, under the themes “Preservation of Doukkala’s Heritage” and “The History of the Banking Sector in El Jadida”, while the second is scheduled for Thursday to highlight “The Place of Doukkala in Moroccan Monetary History”.

In addition, cultural and artistic workshops will be led by local artists for the benefit of schoolchildren in the city, the statement said, adding that on this occasion, Bank Al-Maghrib will broadcast on its institutional website a video retracing the key dates in the history of the El Jadida agency.
