Bank Al-Maghrib puts into circulation the new 200 dirham banknote
Rabat – Bank Al-Maghrib, as part of the issuance of the new series of banknotes and coins, is putting into circulation the new 200 dirham note, starting this Friday, in parallel with the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the presentation of the Independence Manifesto.
The new 200 dirham note highlights the economic and industrial development achieved under the enlightened leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, indicates the Central Bank in a press release, specifying that the themes retained in the graphic representations of the note are infrastructure , industry and development.
The front of the note presents the portrait of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Coat of Arms of the Kingdom, as well as a representation of the “Mohammed VI” cable-stayed bridge. The back of the note features a stylized view of the “Mohammed VI” Tower and the “Marrakech-Menara” International Airport, as well as motifs symbolizing the development of industry and digital technology in Morocco.
This new banknote incorporates the most advanced technologies in security features, such as three-dimensional dynamic effect security thread, color-changing magnetic ink, double-sided marking pattern, designs for the visually impaired with a perceptible relief, micro-texts and typography with progressive characters.
All stages of design and production of the new series of banknotes and coins were carried out exclusively by Moroccan skills operating within Dar As-Sikkah.
