Bank von Check24 pays 4.0 percent interest on call money

Frankfurt The bank of the comparison portal Check24, C24, submits in the competition for customer deposits: The financial institution is the first bank in Germany to offer 4.0 percent interest on overnight money. The company announced this on Thursday. The offer applies to both new and existing customers from September 1st of this year.

Interest is paid on deposits of up to EUR 100,000. According to the company, the interest is automatically credited to the call money account at the end of the month. This creates a compound interest effect, so that the actual return is slightly more than four percent. This is an extra that many overnight money offers now include. The prerequisite for opening a call money account is a giro account with C24, which is free of charge.

“We want to grow faster than in the past,” said Lasse Schmid, chief representative of C24, the Handelsblatt. The offer should not only attract customers in the short term. “We want to keep them for the long term,” says Schmid.
