Guatemalans living in the capital will be able to enjoy an additional break in 2024 with the celebration of Assumption Day, in honor of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the municipality. This holiday, which dates back to colonial times, is an opportunity for families to enjoy various activities, including the traditional Jocotenango Fair.

During this holiday, the Jocotenango Fair, located at the Hipódromo del Norte on Simeón Cañas Avenue, Zone 2, will be a popular meeting point. The fair will be open until Sunday, August 18, from 10:00 am to 10:00 pm, offering a variety of attractions, from traditional games to typical dishes and sweets.

In addition, in front of the Parish of Our Lady of the Assumption, there will also be stalls that will operate from 7:00 am to 10:00 pm, offering visitors a wide variety of options to enjoy Guatemalan delicacies.
