Banksy’s ninth work is a gorilla at London Zoo – Art

by time news

Banksy’s ninth artwork in his daily appointment arrived this morning: it is the black stencil of a gorilla reproduced on a shutter of the London Zoo, intent on freeing other animals, a seal and birds. It is surprising that the series of graffiti by the famous street artist has been called precisely London Zoo and that therefore the new work has found an ideal location in the British capital.

Since last Monday, in order of appearance, the writer has created a goat (or perhaps an ibex) balanced on Kew Bridge, two elephants with their trunks touching in Chelsea, three monkeys swinging under a railway bridge in Brick Lane, a wolf howling at the moon on a satellite dish in Peckham (which was later stolen), two pelicans eating fish on a pub sign in Walthamstow, a large black cat stretching in Cricklewood, a school of fish, probably piranhas, on the walls of a police sentry box on Ludgate Hill, near the Old Bailey and St Paul’s Cathedral, and yesterday a rhinoceros in Charlton, in the south-east of the metropolis. Each time the works have been ‘authenticated’ by Banksy’s website and Instagram profile with the publication of images.
