The highest-grossing film of 2023 that just ended was Barbie, which managed to attract more than 3.5 million viewers throughout the country.
The film based on the character created by Mattel, premiered on July 20 and despite the fact that some provinces were already ending the winter holidays, it shined for many weeks and managed to exceed three million viewers, being the only one of the year in achieving it.
In second place with excellent sales was Super Mario Bros, which premiered in April, for Easter, a usually good date for family content. The film of the Nintendo character ended up close to three million because Ultracine reports 2,978,496 tickets sold.
In third place, Disney Elements also had very good sales followed by Puss in Boots.
Of the 5 most viewed, the only one that was not aimed at an almost exclusively family audience is Fast and Furious X, which with its premiere in May achieved a total of 2.3 million viewers.
In sixth place we have a premiere in 2022, but since it was at the end of the year we can see that Avatar in 2023 had 2.1 million, which added to the million sold in its first days, still does not reach what Barbie achieved.
