Until then, Barcelona will be, during this weekend, the capital of extreme sports with the celebration of the 15th anniversary of Extreme Barcelona.

“There will be more sports and leisure shows than ever,” they promise from the Barcelona council. The names on the list of participants confirm this. For three days, more than 450 national and international athletes who seek qualification for the Paris Games.

Likewise, the event will also bring together great leaders of the 3×3 basketballas well as breaking, a discipline that will debut as an Olympic sport in Paris and whose athletes will seek to qualify for the world championship. The event, which will take place at the Parc del Fòrum starting this Friday, has achieved a milestone this year in terms of diversity with female representatives participating in all categories, something that had never been achieved in previous editions of the Extreme.

On the other hand, the urban sports festival will also host this weekend the first “meeting” of riders with disabilities organized under the umbrella of the ParaBMX organization: the Para BMX Street Championship. The Colombian rider Julian Molina, one of its greatest exponents, assures that they hope that this first meeting “serves as a springboard” for this modality adapted from BMX Freestyle and brings them a little closer to inclusion as paralympic sport.

The event organized by Sevenmila will feature the participation of five medalists at the Olympic Games in Tokyo.
