A difficult but fair victory for Barcelona, which despite losing the lead once, ultimately managed to find the precious winning goal with Lewandowski.

Barcelona secured their second consecutive victory in La Liga thanks to a goal from Robert Lewandowski, who showed up when the team needed him.

Barcelona started the match a bit sluggishly, with Bilbao appearing more willing to attack in the early minutes, mostly through the runs of Nico Williams. However, they failed to create any clear-cut chances. Shortly after, Barcelona balanced the game and fortunate to take the lead with Lamine Yamal in the 24th minute. The international Spaniard made an exquisite slalom between the Basque defenders, and the shot he took just after from the edge of the area ended up in the net.

Having secured the lead, the “blaugrana” did not play with fire and managed the game effectively until the 40th minute, with Lewandowski even hitting the post in the 37th. Unfortunately for Barcelona, three minutes later, Bilbao won a penalty, which Oihan Sanse converted into a goal, sending the ball to the upper right corner for 1-1.

In the second half, the Catalans did not remain inactive, and with Robert Lewandowski as the main representative of their efforts, they threatened in the 57th minute with a hit to the post and in the 64th minute after a shot from the Pole. However, in his third and lethal attempt, the Barcelona striker made it 2-1. Lewandowski in the 75th minute took the rebound inside the small area and gave his team the lead again.

From then on, Ernesto Valverde wanted his team to attack more in order to equalize. Nevertheless, Flick’s players managed this time to successfully defend Ter Stegen’s goal and thus celebrated their second victory in the league.
