Barcelona Shocked by Osasuna in 4-2 Defeat, Ending Perfect Start to La Liga Season

by time news

The Barcelona went to Osasuna’s ground and lost clearly 4-2 on the night of this Saturday, in a match of the 8th round of the Spanish League 24/25. The Catalan team had 7 victories in 7 matches in the competition up to that date, but ended up crashing in a round that could have been beneficial for them, with their two closest pursuers – Real Madrid and Atlético de Madrid – facing each other on Sunday. Thus, the capital rivals could gain ground on Barça.

With several absentees, starting from the goal, where due to Ter Stegen’s serious injury the starter was young Ignacio Pena, Barcelona was far from its best level and half an hour in was already losing 2-0, with Ante Budimir opening the scoring for Osasuna in the 18th minute and Bryan Zaragoza extending the lead in the 28th.

Barcelona still reacted at the start of the second half and reduced the deficit through Pau Victor, but Osasuna responded with two more goals. Ante Budimir raised it to 3-1 from a penalty, and Abel Bretones put an end to the doubts in the 85th minute, increasing it to 4-1. A spectacular goal from prodigy Lamine Yamal in the last minute was of no help to Barça.
