Barea: Nicolas Dupuis resigns

by time news

Nicolas Dupuis, the coach of the Malagasy national football team, resigned from his post after the bitter defeat of the Barea in Cameroon last Monday for the qualifiers for the African Cup of Nations (CAN) 2023. Beaten to the bone by Central Africa, the Barea are eliminated from the race.

The Malagasy Football Federation (FMF) indicates that it has not yet received an official letter of resignation from Nicolas Dupuis. He made the announcement in a video. For most lovers of Malagasy football, this resignation of Nicolas Dupuis is quite logical, especially since he remains on three defeats out of the last 4 matches of the Barea as part of the CAN 2023 qualifiers. Previously , he also failed to qualify the Barea in previous editions of this continental summit unlike 2019 where he led the team to the quarter-finals of the competition.

The era of Nicolas Dupuis is over, Romuald Razafindrabe, alias Rôrô, the coach who led the other Barea team, made up entirely of local players, to third place in the African Nations Championship (CHAN), seems to be the better placed to succeed Nicolas Dupuis. The former Malagasy international, however, says that for the moment this is not yet relevant.

There are still two matches for Madagascar in the framework of the qualifications for the CAN. But as the Barea are in last place in Group E, they no longer have the slightest chance of qualifying for the next rounds of the competition. Thus, the two remaining matches are just formalities. Failure to participate, however, exposes us to sanctions.
