“Bares for Rares”: The expertise for this picture clearly exceeds the expectations of the saleswomen.

Expert Albert Maier can hardly contain his enthusiasm about the painting, which is for sale at “Bares for Rares”. A nice surprise awaits the shop assistants too.

“Good German art,” states Albert Maier when examining the painting, which is on display in the “Bares for Rares” expert room. The two friends Dagmar Sträter and Doris Dahlmeier would like to sell it on the ZDF junk show. Dahlmeier was given the picture by a friend who fell off the wall.

The picture reflects classic German Expressionism, explains the art connoisseur. And he can hardly contain his enthusiasm: “This picture is really great,” he enthuses. He corrects his initial judgment slightly: “This is great German art!” The picture was taken in 1957 in Nebel on Amrum, Maier identifies the well-known painter Willy Robert Huth as the artist. The building shown is the Church of St. Clemens.

Great expertise at “Bares for Rares”

The two saleswomen would like 500 euros for the painting. But Albert Maier does not agree with that. That’s “far too little,” says the expert. He estimates the value of the painting at between 2,000 and 2,500 euros. “You are a good match,” says Horst Lichter in the direction of the two women, who are overjoyed with this expertise.

The dealers also appreciate the beauty of the work of art. Elke Velten-Tönnies starts with 400 euros. With the exception of Steve Mandel, everyone present takes part in the auction, and the bids soon reach four figures. Above all, Velten-Tönnies and Julian Schmitz-Avila deliver an exciting bidding duel that only ends when the latter puts 2500 euros on the table.

The upper limit of the estimated value has been reached – and the sellers receive five times their desired price. It couldn’t have gone any better! The two friends now want to use the money to go on vacation together.
