Executive Engineer Bargi Dam Ajay Sure said that out of the seven gates, gate number ten, eleven and twelve have been opened up to one and a half meters each, gate number nine and thirteen have been opened up to one meter each and gate number eight and fourteen have been opened up to half a meter each. He said that the amount of water discharge from this can be increased or decreased anytime depending on the inflow into the dam.
Water level was recorded at 419 metres
On Monday at 12 noon, the water level of the dam was recorded at 419 meters. At this time, about 70 thousand 600 cusecs of water was entering it. He has appealed to the residents of the lower area of the dam to maintain a safe distance from the Narmada bank and not to enter the submerged area. He told that due to the release of water from the dam, the water level of the Narmada river can increase by eight to ten feet.

At the same time, after the opening of the gates of Bargi Dam, a flood alert has been issued in the surrounding areas. People are appealed not to go near the river. After the opening of the gates of Bargi Dam, the water level of the Narmada River will increase rapidly. In such a situation, there is a greater risk of floods in the areas adjacent to the river.
