Punjab Information Minister slams KPK government over healthcare and education
(24 News) Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari criticized the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) government for neglecting healthcare and education in their own province while focusing on hospitals in Lahore.
“Those whose hospitals, universities and colleges are closing down due to lack of funds in their own province are worried about the hospitals of Lahore,” Bukhari said, responding to a statement by Barrister Saif. “Universities are closing down, employees are not getting salaries, medicines are scarce and doctors are not available.”
Bukhari also criticized Prime Minister Imran Khan, pointing to his two corruption rankings by Transparency International. “What a joke that now he will supervise the corruption of others,” he said. “Your government even stopped free medicines in Punjab. Maryam Nawaz started free medicines in all government hospitals as soon as she arrived.”
The information minister further alleged that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government was focusing on spreading anti-state narratives instead of providing education and healthcare. “Colleges and universities in KPK are instilling violence and hatred in students,” he claimed.
Bukhari concluded by stating that those struggling with corruption in their own provinces were now lecturing others on the issue. He also alleged that a monitoring team had been established by an Adiala Jail inmate to track the corruption of the KP government.
