Bartosz Obuchowicz began his acting career as a child, gaining recognition in Krzysztof Zanussi’s film “Cwał.” He became a household name for his portrayal of Tomek Burski in the popular TVP series “For better or for worse.”
The actor recently appeared on “Good Morning TVN” alongside his wife and 17-year-old daughter Marcelina, where they openly discussed personal challenges.
The couple shared details of their two-decade-long relationship, including Bartosz’s past struggles with alcohol addiction and its profound impact on their lives. His wife described the difficult times as a crucial test of their bond.
“Things have been different, but I think that apart from loving each other, we also like each other, are friends, support each other and like spending time together,” Sobczyńska explained. “Of course, life isn’t always great and wonderful. There are also worse moments. In our case, it happened that we tested together.”
“No, my wife and the whole family put up with me and supported me a lot, especially in what I have been talking about for some time, i.e. alcoholism,” Bartosz stated. “If it weren’t for my family, I think I might not be in this world. Let’s be honest, this disease is fatal, incurable and insidious. It’s impossible to overcome this without support. Family support is very important. Without this support, I wouldn’t be able to do it, I wouldn’t be here, I wouldn’t be sober.”
During the broadcast, the actor’s daughter, 17-year-old Marcelina, revealed her aspiration to pursue a career in psychology, inspired by her mother’s profession, though she noted she still has time to finalize her path.
