Sendhwa Divisional Forest Officer IS Gadaria said that a fire broke out yesterday in the plantation done in Gawadi Beat. The fire spread very fast and its effect was seen in an area of ​​about 7 hectares. He told that plantation was done in this area adjacent to Agra Mumbai National Highway in 2007-08. Fire tenders from different places brought the fire under control.

Due to the fire being extinguished, the nearby plantation of 30,000 saplings done in an area of ​​60 hectares in 2023 was not affected. The plants remained safe there. He told that in 2023 the forest land was being encroached upon. In view of this, wire fencing of the forest area was done and plantation was done there.

He said that the fire has mainly burnt the grass and damaged the surface layer, but he clarified that the plantation is safe. He said that preliminary investigation has revealed that a truck driver passing through the Agra Mumbai National Highway had thrown a burning beedi while defecating. He said that a case has been registered against an unknown person. He said that all the resources to extinguish the fire are available with the Forest Department.
