Sports authorities of the communist island sanctioned the players and coaches who starred in a fight at the 5 de Septiembre stadium in Hundred fires in recent days.
The National Baseball Commission was the entity in charge of issuing disciplinary measures regarding the events that occurred in the game on April 28 between the Cienfuegos and Camagüey teams in the National Baseball Series.
In that sense, it was indicated that the technical director of Cienfuegos, Jorge Rodríguez, received a seven-game ban for the confrontation with a referee in the aforementioned match, this being the most severe punishment within the disciplinary measures taken by the CNB.
For their part, players Richel López and Félix Rodríguez will be prohibited from participating in five games; Luis Vicente Mateo, Luis Serpa and Samuel Calderón cannot play three games, and Danny Oramas will miss only one game.

Likewise, each of the punished players receives another game of suspension for having been expelled from Sunday’s game.
It is important to mention that, on Sunday, April 28, a fight broke out in the match between Cienfuegos and Camagüey. It all started when Emilio Torres bunted a sacrifice ball with the intention of getting his teammates to advance closer to the plate.
Subsequently, Michael Thompson fired a hit into center field, however, the person in charge of covering that area of the field sent the ball directly to home plate to prevent the run.
At first, it seemed that the runner would be out of circulation, and that was when madness broke out: the umpire, Yovani Simón, ruled that he arrived safely, giving the winning race to Camagüey.
