Basketball/Friendly match: the women’s national team beats its Israeli counterpart (62-58)

This meeting takes place within the framework of the implementation of the cooperation agreement, signed Tuesday in Rabat, between the Royal Moroccan Basketball Federation (FRMBB) and the Israeli Basketball Association (IBBA), aiming at strengthening sports cooperation between the two parties through the exchange of experiences in training and education.

The audience present was able to enjoy a high-level match that took place in a spirit of sport and fair play. The Moroccan team, reinforced by players playing abroad, only managed to turn the game in its favor in the final moments of the match.

During the first quarter, the Moroccan team won 19 to 18, thanks to the brilliant performance of Najat Ouardad, while on the Israeli side, the player Tal Lev extended her control under the basket.

In the second quarter, the Moroccan team moved up a gear, thanks in particular to Imane Al Karti, which allowed the Moroccan basketball players to widen the gap and win 36 to 27.

In the third quarter, the Israeli team corrected the situation and reduced the score to one point (51-50).

In the last quarter, the rivalry between the two teams reached its peak. The Moroccans redoubled their efforts to maintain their lead, through quick passes and attacks which forced the Israeli players to commit several fouls. The match thus ended with a victory for the Moroccan team 62 to 58.

The match was attended by the president of the FRMBB, Mr. Mustapha Aourach, the president of the IBBA, Mr. Amiram Halevy, the president of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Mr. Hamane Niang and the head of the Israeli liaison office in Morocco, Mr. David Govrin.
