Tricolor Basketball starts the season with its debut in the LDB, an Under-22 tournament organized by the National Basketball League, this Sunday, June 18th, against Franca, at 6:15 pm. The first phase games will be held at the Corinthians gym in São Paulo.
Tricolor is in Group A, along with Corinthians, Franca, Paulistano, Rio Claro, Vasco, Caxias do Sul, Cetaf, Coritiba, Joinville, Pato Basquete and União Corinthians. In Group B are Bauru, Botafogo, Flamengo, Mogi, Pinheiros, São José, Basquete Cearense, Brasília, Cerrado, Minas, Praia Clube and Unifacisa.
The 24 participating teams were divided into two groups of 12 teams each. To facilitate, each group was divided into two subgroups with six teams each. Tricolor is in subgroup A.1 and, in the first part, which will be played at the Corinthians gym, in São Paulo, the teams face each other in a single shift. In the second half, the A.1 teams face the A.2 teams. Only the top four teams in Groups A and B advance to the next stage.
For now, the date and time of the first five games have been announced:
06/18 (Sunday) – 18:15: Franca vs São Paulo
06/19 (Monday) – 11:15 am: São Paulo vs Rio Claro
06/20 (Tuesday) – 1:30 pm: Corinthians x São Paulo
06/22 (Thursday) – 9 am: Paulistano x São Paulo
06/23 (Friday) – 11:15 am: São Paulo vs Vasco
The technical commission is formed by Osvaldo Pinheiro Varela Guimarães (Dinho) as coach and Antonio Osmar Rana (Pombo), Carlos Eduardo de Lana Costa and Paulo Augusto da Silva Pinto as technical assistants. Caio Eduardo Pereira da Silva will be the physical trainer and João Antonio de Carvalho and Lucas Dutra Belardo will be the wardrobes.
