Basra Gas opens the second berth at the private loading port in Khor Al-Zubair

Basra Gas Company announced today, Wednesday, the opening of the second berth at the company’s loading port in Khor Al-Zubair, while indicating that its importance lies in raising export capabilities.

The assistant director of the company, Kazem Al-Asadi Port, told the (INA): “In the presence of the Deputy Minister of Oil for Gas Affairs, Izzat Saber, Basra Gas Company opened today the second berth at the private loading port in Khor Al-Zubair.”

Al-Asadi revealed the “importance of the dock in raising the company’s export capabilities, in conjunction with the noticeable increase in production witnessed by the company during the past period.”

He explained that “the dock has four arms, one of which is dedicated to propane gas and has a loading capacity of 2,400 tons per hour, the second is dedicated to butane gas with the same export capacity as the first, the third is dedicated to loading gas condensates and operates at a capacity of up to 4,800 tons per hour, and the fourth is for vapors resulting from loading operations.”

He pointed out that “this capacity will reduce the time for loading tankers from five days to only two days,” noting that “the company, after processing natural gas, works to produce three materials: dry gas designated for generating electricity, LPG gas, which is known as cooking gas, in addition to gas condensates.”

He explained that “export operations are now concerned with LPG gas and gas condensates.”
