To volunteer the day before her wedding: “This is the time to give”
Bat-Chen and Niv were supposed to celebrate yesterday (Thursday) the happy event in their lives with many family members and friends. The war changed their plans. Niv, a reserve fighter in the Givat patrol, was sent to the south, and Bat-Chen, who remained in the rear, decided that she had to give something of herself as well and went to volunteer at the Petchon-Lev aid center.
“Everything is dwarfed by what the families go through”
Despite the excitement and anticipation of their upcoming wedding, Bat-Chen and Niv understood the gravity of the situation in their country. With the ongoing conflict in the south, they knew that many families were facing hardships and needed assistance.
Bat-Chen, with a selfless heart, took the decision to spend the day before her wedding volunteering at the Petchon-Lev aid center. She explained, “Everything is dwarfed by what the families go through. As we were preparing for our big day, we realized that others were suffering unimaginable losses.”
The Petchon-Lev aid center has been providing support and aid to families affected by the war. Bat-Chen joined a team of dedicated volunteers who have been working tirelessly to provide food, clothing, and medical assistance to those in need.
“We are fortunate to have each other, a loving family, and friends who support us. It made us realize how blessed we are, and we wanted to give back in some way,” Niv shared.
Bat-Chen’s act of kindness and sacrifice did not go unnoticed. Many praised her for her selflessness and willingness to prioritize the needs of others over her own on such an important day in her life.
