Batelli: We will consider the alternative procedure in the event that no agreement is reached on the electoral laws

The UN envoy to Libya, Abdullah Batili, said on Friday that in the event that the House of Representatives and the state fail to reach an agreement on election laws in a timely manner, we will consider the alternative procedure that we can take, indicating that talking about alternatives will be in its time.

Batelli indicated in an interview with Reuters on Friday that he would not accept any moves to obstruct the elections, stressing the need to reach an agreement in a timely manner.

Batelli added in his interview that if the parties do not reach an agreement, they will be accountable to the Libyan people, the international community and the regional leaders who support them in this process.
