The Batgirl character first appeared in comic books in the 1960s. The story of the fictional superhero revolves around Barbara Gordon, daughter of Commissioner James Gordon, the Gotham City Police Commissioner. Alicia Silverstone had a little Batgirl role in “Batman & Robin” in 1997 on the side of Batman actor George Clooney. After numerous bat films, Batgirl is now receiving her first independent film.
