For many years now, many who have ventured to take a dip in the only official bathing place in Narva, in Joaorg (Lipovka), have been covered with an incomprehensible rash.

At one time, such an unpleasant phenomenon was associated with the fact that this backwater of the Narova was practically stagnant, and the water in it, respectively, was stagnant. After the expansion of the channel from the side of the Ivangorod hydroelectric power station, the movement of water became active, but the problem did not go away.

As NG was told in the Narva hospital, 20 patients came to them with a rash after swimming from June 1 to July 5.

It is impossible to estimate how many people came with the same problem to family doctors or solved it on their own. About what exactly causes the rash, in the Narva hospital they could not tell us with all certainty. “There are many options,” said hospital spokeswoman Daria Davydovskaya.

According to her, the rash is treated with anti-allergic drugs (tablets, drops, ointment are prescribed), referring patients under the supervision of family doctors.
Note that the quality of water in Joaorg is monitored by specialists from the Estonian Health Department. From June 5, with the official permission of the department, the swimming season there was officially opened. The results of the studies of water samples were excellent, by no means did they approach the limiting standards.
