In the midst of the controversy over the division of the Judiciary for the support given this Wednesday by the Federal Judicial Council (CJF) to the election of judges when delivering information to the Senate to prepare the lists of candidates, yesterday, in an unusual event, the minister attended Lenia Batres and the magistrate of Superior Court of Justice of the CDMX, Rafael Guerrato the installation of the Justice Commission of the Chamber of Deputies.

In this regard, Batres rejected that his presence in the San Lázaro Protocol Hall be a conflict of interest, due to their possible participation in next year’s ministerial election process.

“Conflict of interest would be if the Court gets involved in resolving the issue of the election or any type of resolution, there will be a conflict of interest. Here I do not resolve anything, I do not vote for anything, I only have opinions (and) that is what I came to do and to express a cordial greeting to the Legislative Power so that it is very successful,” he expressed upon leaving.

Regarding the decision made by CJF to deliver the information to the Senate to advance the election process of the PJ and in contempt of the resolutions issued by judges themselves, he responded that the initial contempt was from those who dared to grant suspensions.
