The head of government, Martí Batres, minimizes the issue of contaminated water in Benito Juárez how Betty minimized the problem of milk, said the standard bearer of the ‘Va x la CDMX’ coalition, Santiago Taboada.
In a statement to the media, after a campaign tour in Gustavo A. Maderothe opposition candidate for head of Government accused the capital president of generating “greater doubt” about the contaminated water in BJ.
“It has been practically 15 days the problem. He first minimized it, just like Betty’s milk when she sold it 27 years ago (…) the only thing it is generating is greater doubt, greater chaos in the population because no one is certain of absolutely anything. Not even 15 days after the source that caused this contamination,” she said.

In this sense, Santiago Taboada rated as inefficient the handling of the issue by authorities, referring to a lack of information and speculation.
“The response is inefficient. Given the inefficiency of the Government in handling this issue, speculation begins (…) those truly affected continue to have many doubts,” he mentioned.

However, he indicated, the presence of a substance derived from oils or lubricants could cause allergic reactions.
“Despite the low concentration detected in the water of this substance, it can cause some type of skin irritation, mainly in sensitive people or people with a history of allergies.
Those who have had skin irritation have been advised not to use the water for bathing. However, as we have said, does not represent a major risk or serious to health,” he explained.
