She has been playing Cupid on TV for almost 20 years, but little is known about Inka Bause‘s love life. Now the presenter has given a rare private insight.
When it comes to love, “Bauer sucht Frau” is probably the most successful German dome show. Since 2005, Inka Bause has helped numerous lonely farmers find relationships – over 30 couples created on the show have already walked down the aisle. However, the presenter herself is always seen solo.
Inka Bause largely keeps her private life out of the public eye, but she doesn’t have a secret relationship and “I’m not secretly a lesbian either – because if I were, I would be open about it,” the 55-year-old explains in an interview with “Bild”. . The truth is simply that “for 15 years there hasn’t been a permanent partner that I could take with me somewhere,” said the TV star.
“Fulfilled, happy and complete even without a man”
But her life is “totally fulfilled, happy and complete even without a husband. I have achieved everything that I set out to do in my life as a young woman,” emphasizes Inka Bause. She finds it rather amusing that many people see it differently. “It’s a very old-fashioned and cliched view that a woman over 50 must be missing something if she hasn’t had a husband for a long time,” said the mother of one daughter.
Even if she no longer has a partner at her side in the future, that wouldn’t make her “life worse.” In any case, she doesn’t want to get involved in “lazy compromises”. “I had a great love for 18 years, have a wonderful daughter, friends, family, my dogs. That’s why I can now sit back and relax and enjoy everything that may come next,” says Inka Bause.
Her daughter Anneli comes from her marriage to the late Hendrik Bruch. Inka Bause met him while studying music together in Berlin in the eighties. They tied the knot in 1996 and their daughter was born in the same year. The marriage broke up in 2004, but the presenter and the composer remained close friends. Hendrik Bruch took his own life in 2016.
