Álvaro Bautista continues his winning streak, and looks for another plenary session in Misano. The reigning world champion has taken the first race of the weekend, following the lead in free practice and qualifying. A comfortable and uneventful race for the talaverano where he once again dominated from start to finish, while Rinaldi returned to the podium, without rivals and followed very far by Razgatlioglu.

In addition, the two Aruba.it Racing Ducati riders dressed their bikes and yellow suits for the occasion, a tribute to Ducati’s history.

The start began at 2:00 p.m., with a good asphalt temperature. The action would be complicated by Bradley Ray, who stopped his motorcycle just as the light was going to go out. That had to force the start to be delayed, and the pilot had to retire to the paddock. It was relaunched a few minutes later, and now yes, yes, Bautista would go out like a rocket without anyone being able to reply.

Rinaldi and Rea were in a brawl during the first lap, returning the overtaking fleetingly. Behind them were Petrucci, Bassani and Rea fighting for fifth place. Meanwhile, these little fights gave Bautista wings to fly alone, but Rinaldi did not want to let his teammate escape. The pressure did not last long, because in the third lap he was already almost a second ahead.

With Bautista taking the lead in the early stages of the race and Rinaldi being left off the hook, Razgatlioglu was being tickled by Petrucci, Bassani and Rea. In the rear group there was also action between Lowes, Lecuona, Gardner and Redding, who were looking to unhorse the Englishman from 8th place.

There wouldn’t be too much action until the end of the race. Bautista flew alone, Rinaldi also did the same and Razgatlioglu was finally off the hook. They would thus reach the end of Race 1, completing the podium. Except for Petrucci, who when he was in fourth position, ended up lying on the ground after making a mistake in the middle of the curve. Offside, giving Bassani the points for fourth place on a layup.

Finally, at the rear fifth position was settled in favor of Jonathan Rea, who battled with Aegerter, the only hot spot of the entire race in the final stretch. The Northern Irishman took it from the street, who defended very well the challenges of the Yamaha rider. Rea 5th, Aegerter 6th, behind them finished Lowes (7th), who beat Lecuona (8th) and Gardner (9th). Vierge closed the top 10 of which Redding was left at the gates (11th). The Spanish army was completed with Tito Rabat in 19th position and Isaac Viñales behind, 20th.

This leaves Álvaro Bautista leading even more the general classification of the championship. The man from Talavera already has 261 points under his wing, with a lot of difference over Toprak Razgatlioglu (78), the second with 183 points. Behind him, Locatelli with 137 points.

The weekend doesn’t end here. The Superbikes will roar again tomorrow Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Spanish time in the last race of the weekend that will be televised on DAZN, Eurosport and Teledeporte.
