South Africa announced the 16-member squad for the West Indies tour on Monday. Temba Bavuma returns as captain with this series. However, Marco Jansen has been rested.
Bavuma last played a Test against India in Centurion. Then he returned to lead the team again.
Matthew Britz has been called up to the Test team for the first time. He has already made his debut in T20. This batsman is waiting for his Test debut. Wicket-keeper batsman Ryan Rickelton, who last played a Test against the West Indies in 2023, also returned to the team after a year.
The first Test will begin at the Queenspark Oval in Trinidad and Tobago from August 7 to August 11. The second Test will then be held in Guyana from August 15 to 19.
