jpnn.comJAKARTA – The Indonesian Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) through the Division of Handling Violations and Data and Information held the 4th Election Law Enforcement Debate Competition between universities throughout Indonesia in 2024.
This debate raised the theme ‘2024 Simultaneous Elections’.
Students who wish to participate in this debate can register from 21-30 August 2024.
The Coordinator of the Division of Handling Violations and Data and Information of Bawaslu RI, Puadi, said that this debate could be used by students to further explore the issues that will emerge in the 2024 simultaneous regional head elections (Pilkada).
“The holding of simultaneous regional head elections in 2024 is predicted to give rise to various issues, both from legal aspects, social aspects, economic aspects, and political aspects themselves,” said Puadi in his statement, Wednesday (31/7).
Puadi said that several issues had given rise to debate ahead of the election which had entered the preparation stage and the voter list updating stage.
Issues that have given rise to debate in the public space include the potential for the empty box contest to win and disrupt political stability for the next five years.
In addition, another issue is that incumbent regional heads who are not election participants are considered to be using their power to support one of the election participants.
The Bawaslu RI Violation Handling and Data and Information Division will hold a debate competition on election law enforcement, come on students!
