jpnn.comJAKARTA – Bawaslu DKI Jakarta has asked residents to immediately report to the agency if their Population Identification Number (NIK) is used to support the individual candidate pair in the 2024 DKI Jakarta Pilkada, Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana.

“We have instructed the ranks below at the city level, if anyone complains or reports officially, please follow up,” said the Coordinator of the DKI Bawaslu Violation Handling Division, Benny Sabdo, in Jakarta, Friday.

Benny revealed that a number of residents had reported the use of NIK to support the gubernatorial and deputy gubernatorial candidate pair from the independent route, Dharma Pongrekun and Kun Wardana.

Moreover, Benny said, this NIK impersonation is a serious issue. Therefore, he ensured that all reports from the public will be followed up.

He said that his party would not ignore reports from the public, because public participation and supervision were needed at the election stages to elect the governor and deputy governor of DKI Jakarta.

“I convey, if there are people who feel that their names have been used even though they did not provide support, please report it to the DKI Jakarta Provincial Bawaslu,” he said.

The Jakarta General Election Commission is awaiting recommendations from the Election Supervisory Body (Bawaslu) regarding the use of NIK on residents’ ID cards to support individual candidates in the 2024 Jakarta gubernatorial election.

“If there are people who provide responses, please provide responses to the DKI Jakarta Bawaslu. We will wait for recommendations from Bawaslu regarding situations like this,” said Head of the Technical Division of the DKI Jakarta General Election Commission (KPU) Dody Wijaya.

Bawaslu asked the public who feel that their ID cards have been used for the Jakarta Pilkada to report it immediately.
