Bayer Leverkusen, who are the champions of the 2023/2024 German League (Bundesliga), are confident of winning the 2024 German Super Cup trophy.

Bayer Leverkusen senior midfielder Granit Xhaka said one of his squad’s advantages in the match was that they would be playing at their home ground, the BayArena Stadium.

“We are playing against a very good team at home. Of course, with the support of the supporters, the fans, we are confident that we can win this trophy as the first step to start the season,” said Xhaka as quoted by AFP in Jakarta, Friday (16/8).

According to the 31-year-old footballer, the German Super Cup title will make Leverkusen more confident in facing the first match of the 2024/2025 Bundesliga.

“We are hungry for titles, we want this trophy,” said Xhaka.

Bayer Leverkusen winger Nathan Tella also said his team always has high standards like last season, when they won the Bundesliga and DFP-Pokal (German Cup).

Tella, who was recruited by Leverkusen in the summer of 2023, emphasized that he always tries hard to follow the rhythm set by his team coach Xabi Alonso.
