She is at the origin of the controversy concerning Julien Bayou and the accusations against him, but she had not spoken publicly in recent days. Guest of France 3 this Sunday, Sandrine Rousseau responded to the criticisms that target her.
Does she regret having spoken? “I have absolutely no regrets, I responded as a citizen at a time when transparency and independence were needed. I protect the fight of women, and I will continue, ”she replied. “No matter what I do, I’m identified as the problem. (…) If I have to leave politics to defend women, it would be an honor,” added the elected official.
The ecologist deputy had confided on France 5, on September 19, to have received an ex-companion of the one who was still national secretary of EELV, in a “very depressed” state. She then allegedly “attempted suicide”. The elected official had added “that they are obviously several” and accused Julien Bayou of “behavior likely to break the moral health of women”.
In the process, the political leader had been “withdrawn” from the co-presidency of the environmental group in the Assembly. On September 26, he finally resigned as party leader, while denouncing a “grotesque situation”.
Julien Bayou “put under surveillance”?
According to his lawyer Marie Dosé, “Julien Bayou has never exercised the slightest psychological violence against his companions”. The cell against sexual violence of EELV would have been “unable to work while respecting the slightest fundamental principle”, according to Marie Dosé. But the party leadership, which met this Saturday morning, reaffirmed its “confidence” in the work of this internal cell.
In recent days, many observers have wondered why Sandrine Rousseau had publicly reported such accusations. “I don’t think she’s thinking about the congress or that she wants to butt up Julien, but she wants to keep the totem of feminism.
