BBVA in Colombia was one of 23 companies and organizations highlighted for their work to close gender gaps in the business environment. This recognition was granted by the Ministry of Labor, the National Tax and Customs Directorate, and UNDP Colombia, who, through the ‘Equipares’ Labor Equality Seal, seek more entities to build diverse and inclusive environments.

“It is recognition highlights BBVA’s exemplary role in building an inclusive and equitable work environment. It is a testimony of the continuous commitment that we have from the business sector with equity, diversity and inclusion,” said Mario Pardo Bayona, executive president of BBVA in Colombia.

In Equipares, eight dimensions are taken into account on which an organizational diagnosis with a gender focus is carried out, such as recruitment and selection; promotion and development; training; remuneration and salary; reconciliation of personal, family and work life with co-responsibility; prevention of sexual and workplace harassment in the workplace; work environment and health; as well as non-sexist communication and inclusive language.

Likewise, this program works to eliminate wage and employment discrimination against women and promote a culture of equal conditions for women.

In terms of progress in terms of inclusion and equity, 53% of BBVA’s workforce in Colombia is made up of women and the boards of directors of BBVA’s subsidiaries in Colombia: BBVA Asset Management, BBVA Valores and BBVA Seguros, have female representation of 30%.
