BBVA in Spain has enabled a function in its ‘app’ so that its clients can pay, proactively and without the need for direct debit, the real estate tax (IBI) of the Madrid City Council from this very moment, in the voluntary period. This functionality is included in the Taxes and Receipts payment option, already available for payment of other state and regional taxes.

The BBVA mobile application in Spain has incorporated a new functionality that makes it easier for customers in the city of Madrid to pay the THE PLACE, open on a voluntary basis since last October 1. From the mobile application itself, in the “tax” button, the bank customer can pay this tax by scanning the barcode with the smartphone camera or including the code manually.

In this way, the entity’s clients, self-employed and individuals, can comply with municipal taxation without having to go to an office or ATM. This function is now available and can be used both in the voluntary period, which ends on November 30, and in the executive period, which begins once the previous period has ended.

BBVA It also gives its clients the option of direct debiting said lien, which in turn allows it to be divided. This can have a bonus of up to 5%. Likewise, delaying the payment of this tax carries with it penalties of up to 20%. In addition to the possible bonuses, direct debiting the IBI has other advantages: it saves time in the procedures because it does not require traveling every time the fee has to be paid and, as it is automatically debited from a bank account, it avoids possible confusion and unnecessary surcharges.
