PT Asuransi Jiwa BCA (BCA Life) held a financial and insurance literacy seminar for hundreds of students at the University of Indonesia as part of the peak implementation of Financial Inclusion Month (BIK) 2023, Monday (30/10).

This activity was carried out to support the acceleration of the level of financial inclusion which is targeted to reach 90 percent by 2024.

Based on OJK data, the development of the public financial literacy and inclusion index in Indonesia shows an increase. This is supported by the results of the 2022 National Survey of Financial Literacy and Inclusion (SNLIK) which shows the financial literacy index of Indonesian people is 49.68 percent and the general financial inclusion index is 85.10 percent.

This figure has increased compared to the 2019 SNLIK results, namely the financial literacy index of 38.03 percent and the financial inclusion index of 76.19 percent. Based on this, BCA Life as a Financial Services Business Actor (PUJK) is again holding a financial literacy and sustainable insurance seminar, this time entitled “Buy Coffee or Chase Dreams?” and presenting financial experts as guest speakers.

In the seminar, BCA Life presented material regarding financial management based on a priority scale, preparing emergency funds, financial security by getting to know financial instruments, and understanding the importance of having insurance protection as a component in financial planning, as well as an overview of the job landscape in the financial services sector in particular life insurance.

BCA Life Compliance Director Sukawati Lubis said this activity was a form of BCA Life’s commitment to support the OJK program in increasing financial literacy and inclusion for the community.
