Mumbai: The crucial meeting to decide the election of the ICC Chairman will be held in Dubai soon. Uncertainty remains over whether current chairman Greg Barclay will run. Under ICC rules, Barclays can run twice. However, the BCCI is reportedly considering fielding former BCCI president and Union minister Anurag Thakur if Barclays does not contest.

Thakur, a former BCCI president, has been the ICC director. Incumbent BCCI president and former Indian captain Sourav Ganguly and BCCI secretary Jay Shah are likely to run for the ICC chairmanship, but both are unlikely to step down from the BCCI post and head to the ICC post.

Former BCCI presidents N Srinivasan and Shashank Mammohar have succeeded Sharad Pawar as ICC chairmen. Srinivasan was the chairman from 2014-2015, while Shashank Manohar was the ICC chairman from 2015 to 2020.
