BCCI earmarks window in March 2023 for inaugural women’s IPL

Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India is reportedly planning to host the first women’s IPL in March 2023. The board has made changes in this regard in the domestic calendar for women.

The 2022–23 senior women’s season will begin with a T20 match on 11 October and conclude with an inter-zonal ODI match in February next year. The tournament will be held for a month. A senior BCCI official confirmed that there will be five teams in the competition.

The Women’s IPL will be held after the Women’s T20 World Cup in South Africa. In February this year, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly had said that the Women’s IPL would be held in 2023.
