New Delhi: BCCI has earned a bumper income from Indian Premier League 2023. According to the report of Economics Times, BCCI has got a surplus of Rs 5120 crore from IPL. The report claims that BCCI has earned 116 percent more than the surplus of Rs 2367 crore earned from IPL 2022. It is believed that BCCI’s total income from IPL 2023 was Rs 11,769 crore, which has increased by 78 percent year on year. However, along with this, BCCI’s expenses have also increased significantly. According to the annual report of IPL 2022-23, there has been an increase of 66 percent in which Rs 6648 crore has been spent in organizing it.

Talking about earnings, BCCI has earned the most money from the new media rights of IPL. Apart from this, the board also gets a huge amount from sponsors. Let us tell you that the new media rights for 2023-27 are worth Rs 48,390 crore. This IPL has started from 2023. IPL TV rights were acquired by Disney Star in 2021 for Rs 23,575 crore. The digital rights have been given to Jio Cinema for Rs 23,758 crore. IPL title sponsor rights have been sold to Tata Sons for Rs 2500 crore.

India may also suffer losses in the Champions Trophy
