BCCI said in a post on ‘X’, ‘Sarfaraz Khan, Dhruv Jurel and Yash Dayal have been released from the Indian Test team to participate in the Irani Cup starting tomorrow in Lucknow.’ Former Indian team captain Ajinkya Rahane will lead Mumbai. Rest of India will be led by Maharashtra opening batsman Ruturaj Gaikwad.
Middle-order batsman Sarfaraz will be a part of the Mumbai team. In this match, Mumbai will not get the services of Sarfaraz’s younger brother and Musheer Khan who is in great form. Musheer is recovering from injuries sustained in a car accident. Musheer’s car met with an accident on Purvanchal Expressway while coming to Lucknow from his ancestral home in Azamgarh. Wicketkeeper batsman Jurel and left arm fast bowler Dayal will represent the rest of the India team.
