The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Jai Shah on Saturday posted some pictures of the country’s new National Cricket Academy. After that, there was an uproar in the cricket world. India is the richest cricket board in the world. They want their National Cricket Academy to be like that.
The facilities that India has in Bengaluru are truly amazing. There are three world class playgrounds inside the academy. Due to floodlights, practice and matches can be played 24 hours a day and night. There are separate indoor and outdoor grounds. Where there are 45 wickets in all. Outdoor fields are also floodlit. Apart from this, the medical facilities that are kept for the treatment of injured cricketers will be less even if it is called a hospital.
Jai Shah wrote on X, ‘It is with great pleasure that the new BCCI Cricket Academy is almost ready. His activities will start in Bangalore in a few days. The new National Cricket Academy has three world-class grounds. There are 45 wickets. Separate wicket with indoor. There is an Olympic size swimming pool. With state of the art training. Rehabilitation and sports science facilities are also available here.’
In 2022, the then BCCI president Sourav Ganguly and Jay Shah announced that the National Cricket Academy would be built near the Bangalore airport. An academy is running in Bangalore. The academy is run by former Indian cricketer VVS Laxman. This academy was established in 2000. The academy is located near M Chinbasamy Stadium. BCCI has decided to open another academy not only in Bengaluru but also in Jammu and Kashmir.
