BEAC: Launch of the process of withdrawing banknotes from the 92 range from circulation

DIG/ With the announcement of the circulation of a new range of banknotes in the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC) area in 2022, the Ministerial Committee of the Monetary Union of Central Africa (UMAC) had also decided on the gradual withdrawal, from March 1, 2023, of tickets in the 92 range in the countries of the community area.

The operation will run until May 31, 2023.

Holders of these banknotes will be able to exchange them at bank counters and in the services of the Bank of Central African States (BEAC) in Gabon, Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Chad, Cameroon and the Central African Republic.

From June 1, 2023, these banknotes will only be exchanged in BEAC services until May 31, 2024 before their demonetization and, therefore, their total invalidity.

Alone the banknotes of the 2002 range will still be legal court next to the range put into circulation on December 15, 2022.
