jpnn.com – BANDUNG – Borneo FC became the first team to secure a place in the 2024 President’s Cup semifinals.
This was after Pesut Etam – Borneo’s nickname, defeated the host of Group A, Persib Bandung, at the Si Jalak Harupat Stadium, Bandung Regency, Monday (22/7) evening WIB.
Borneo FC, the regular series champion of Liga 1 last season, won 1-0.
The only goal scored in the super tight match was scored in injury time, 90+1 minute, by Borneo FC’s new player, Berguinho.
Borneo FC also pocketed six points, and it is impossible to be displaced from the Top 2 at the end of the group stage.
On the third or final matchday, Borneo FC will face PSM Makassar on Thursday (25/7). Meanwhile, Persib Bandung must play a life-or-death match against Persis Solo.
