In Paldau, south-east Styria, a minibus with two students left the road on Wednesday afternoon and overturned. The children (11) were slightly injured. The driver is believed to have avoided a cat on the road and lost control of the vehicle.
An accident with a school bus ended relatively lightly on Wednesday at around 1:45 p.m. in Paldau. A 40-year-old drove the minibus with two eleven-year-olds on board. According to the police, the driver stated that a cat suddenly jumped onto the road at the end of a left-hand bend. To avoid the animal, the 40-year-old tore the steering wheel, the rear of the minibus broke out and he skidded. The driver was unable to control the vehicle and went off the road to the left. The bus overturned and came to rest on its wheels in a field. A blessing in disguise: Both students suffered only minor injuries and were able to return home after outpatient treatment in the hospital. The driver was not injured.
